DeForest soccer standout Marissa Titel will play in the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association All-Star Game on July 25 in Madison.
On Saturday, July 25, Titel will represent DeForest one last time, set to participate in the 2026 Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association (WSCA) All-Star Game at Breese Stevens Field in Madison.
Senior forward/midfielder Marissa Titel will cap her career at DeForest at the 2026 WSCA All-Star Game on Saturday, July 25.
But Titel won’t be the only Norski at the All-Star festivities, either.
She will be joined by current DeForest boys and girls head soccer coach Josh Howard on “Team Blue.” Coach Howard will serve as an assistant coach during the All-Star event. He and Titel are set to take the field at 11 a.m., per the WSCA.
All-star game details
For DeForest, the upcoming All-Star festivities serve as another reminder of the historic season both Titel and DeForest had this spring.
Titel, a forward/midfielder, led DeForest in scoring and points this year. She scored nine goals and dished five assists, totaling 23 points.
Of note, the senior captain scored four game-winning/go-ahead goals and was also named the Team MVP. In light of her success on the field, she was named to the 2026 Badger-Large All-Conference First Team.
Collectively, DeForest embarked upon another white-hot Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) postseason run. Just a year prior, DeForest’s season ended in the sectional finals. At the time, that was the deepest postseason run in program history.
DeForest decided to take it one step further this year.
Despite being a No. 7 seed entering the state tournament, DeForest rattled off four consecutive victories through regionals and sectionals to secure a place to state for the first time in program history. In three of those four games, DeForest was the lower-seeded team.
In the playoffs, DeForest — pictured at state — defeated No. 10 seed Burlington 5-0, No. 2 seed Waukesha West 1-0, No. 6 seed Monona Grove 4-3 in OT and No. 5 seed Edgewood 2-0.
Moving on to the state semifinals, DeForest's season ended in a 1-0 defeat to Wauwatosa East on Thursday, June 18 at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee. They finished their spring campaign with a 14-7-2 overall record, per MaxPreps.
